Coldplay paid tribute to Luton Town FC by performing a new song titled Orange on BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
The British band also invited Sabrina Carpenter, a singer and actress from the United States, to the main stage at Stockwood Park in Luton following her earlier performance on Sunday.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin expressed concerns that the band will perform their song Yellow, the colour used by the Hatters’ arch rivals Watford.
Luton fans initiated a campaign to modify the lyrics to refer to orange instead, but the band performed a new song glorifying the local club.
