According to reports, the Bills may consider signing one of the most unreliable wide receivers in this year’s free agent class. Davis never lived up to his name, despite catching 207 catches for 2,851 yards and 11 touchdowns in four seasons with the Tennessee Titans. However, a source feels he may have another chance in the league after reinstating himself.
His greatest season occurred in 2020, when he caught 65 catches for 984 yards and five touchdowns. This stat line prompted him to earn a lucrative contract with the New York Jets for 2021. However, injuries have prevented him from routinely contributing to the club. He’ll probably never return to peak form, but whispers persist that he could sign with a team.
According to Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report, the Bills are a good fit for him to return to being a functional receiver. Davis still has production and the potential to be a vertical threat as the No. 3 receiver. The Bills are another team in need of a pass-catcher after losing Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs this offseason. However, it is a low-cost effective option that provides Patrick Mahomes another weapon to use alongside incoming wideout Xavier Worthy.
