Brajan Gruda, an Aston Villa and Newcastle United target, has expressed respect for Bayern Munich, who are also interested in the Mainz winger.
Gruda drew the interest of the Bundesliga this season with his performances for Mainz, who finished 13th.
The winger is now a sought player this summer, with suitors in the Premier League (Aston Villa and Newcastle), as well as Germany.
Gruda is being pursued by Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, and RB Leipzig, while Bayern Munich is interested, and the winger has revealed that as a boy, he wished to play for the Allianz Arena club.
When asked if a move to Bayern Munich would be a dream, Gruda told German newspaper Bild (via FCBinside), “Absolutely. “Every footballer dreams of playing for Bayern as a child.”
Any club seeking to recruit Gruda this summer will have to delve deep into their transfer coffers, as Mainz are reportedly looking for up to €50 million to let him leave.
Mainz believe Gruda, who is only 20 years old, has a lot of promise, especially because he is already in the Germany squad.
Gruda did not make the final Germany squad for Euro 2024 due to a calf injury that prompted him to depart training camp early this summer.
The winger rose through Mainz’s youth systems before making his professional debut last year.
