ESPN REPORT: The Arkansas Razorbacks Manager is Being Fired Due to…

Arkansas’s FAYETTEVILLE A legendary coach and eight former student-athletes from the University of Arkansas have been chosen to be inducted into the University of Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor in 2024.

The following athletes will be formally inducted: softball player Devon Wallace, baseball player David Walling, women’s basketball player Wendi Willits, men’s basketball player Kareem Reid, football player Matt Jones, men’s basketball player Matt Hemingway, baseball coach Dave Van Horn, and football player Ravin Caldwell. The ceremony will take place on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville. Collins will receive a posthumous induction. The event will take place the evening before the Arkansas-UAB football game, which kicks off at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium at 3:15 p.m.

The A Club and former Razorback letter winners vote to choose the inductees into the UA Sports Hall of Honor.

Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek stated, “The University of Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor represents the best of the best in the history of our program.” A Hall of Fame coach and some of the most dynamic athletes in Razorback history, including national champions, Olympic medalists, and standouts from six of our programs who helped establish the groundwork for our success, are among the talented class of this year. During our Hall of Honor weekend, we are excited to honor these men and women and all of their achievements.

During his four years at Arkansas, Caldwell earned a letter, helping the Razorbacks win 32 games and place in two final top-12 rankings. After a 9-2-1 season that ended with a victory over Florida in the Bluebonnet Bowl, the 1982 squad was ranked No. 9 in the final poll of the year. His 153 tackles, including 20.0 for loss that resulted in 110 yards lost, five fumble recoveries, six forced fumbles, 16 pass breakups, and one interception, marked the culmination of his Razorback career. With 5.5 sacks, 10.0 tackles for loss, and four fumble recoveries as a junior, he led the team.
