Cricket West Indies releases the revised England Tour team.
June 27, St. John’s [Antigua] (ANI): An amended 15-man team has been announced by Cricket West Indies (CWI) for the three-Test Richards Botham series in England, which will begin at Lord’s on July 10, 2024. There is one notable alteration in the team: fast bowler Jeremiah Louis from St. Kitts & Nevis has taken Kemar Roach’s position, as Roach continues to recover from a knee injury he suffered during the England County Championship.
Desmond Haynes, the lead selector, said, “Kemar’s skill and experience in English conditions will be missed; however, this opportunity has been long in the making for Jeremiah Louis, he certainly has the skill and experience to make an impact in England.”
The Richards Botham series is a historic rivalry that dates back to 1928, when the West Indies first toured England. It is named after West Indies icon Sir Vivian Richards and England great Lord Ian Botham.
The team has been at Tonbridge School for a training camp. On July 4, they will play a three-day warm-up match in Beckenham versus the England Lions. Isai Thorne, a 19-year-old fast bowler, will be a development player on the team.
The following players make up the West Indies Test Squad: Shamar Joseph, Mikyle Louis, Zachary McCaskie, Kirk McKenzie, Gudakesh Motie, Jeremiah Louis, Jayden Seales, Kevin Sinclair, Alick Athanaze, Joshua Da Silva, Jason Holder, Kavem Hodge, Tevin Imlach, Alzarri Joseph (Vice-Captain), and Isai Thorne (Development Player).
