Sam Pittman drops a shocking social medial message to fans/team.
Social media is truly a two-edged weapon. While the numerous online platforms give celebrities a direct line of communication with their fans, they also give anonymous criticism a place.
With that in mind, Sam Pittman, the football coach at Arkansas, said he had had enough of the hate he’s received online and had closed his account on X, the platform that was once known as Twitter.
Fans discovered that Pittman had deactivated his “@Coach SamPittman” account from the social networking platform a few days following the Razorbacks’ Week 3 loss to BYU. After the Hogs’ Week 4 loss against LSU, the coach was questioned about the decision at his weekly news conference on Monday. This prompted him to make a forceful defense of himself and his players against the anonymous criticism they have been subjected to.
According to Jackson Fuller of the Southwest Times Record, Pittman told reporters, “I’ll be honest with you, I just got sick of it.” “I simply kept it for recruiting purposes when I originally got it. They say the university would benefit if I brought it back.
Pittman went on, “I don’t think you can hide behind a phone and address people as personally as what people do.” It’s not fair, in my opinion. It’s not right, in my opinion. That’s not appropriate for the kids, in my opinion.
