Sad news as Lakers HC is hospitalized.
In a sad turn of events for Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss, everyone who knows him and the entire Lakers team and fanbase, Buss has reportedly been hospitalized with cancer—a condition that has been known for quite some time but not reported out of respect for the Buss family.
Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register officially broke the news in the L.A. media market on Thursday afternoon:
According to Ding’s report, family and friends of the longtime L.A. tycoon are at his bedside during this trying time. As RadarOnline.com reports, a source has suggested that Buss could be nearing death if things don’t turn around soon:
Buss’s health had been declining for the past few months, and he had been in and out of the hospital since turning 79 in late January. Buss is reportedly receiving treatment at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Buss has made the Lakers into one of the most significant teams in NBA history since acquiring the team in 1979. His ten titles cover a three-decade period and feature players like Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Magic Johnson.
Buss, who was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010, is considered by many to be among the greatest sports owners in professional sports history. Apart from the Lakers, he has also owned shares in Los Angeles, an NHL team.
