After entering the transfer portal on June 17, Franklin chose Tennessee over an offer from in-state rival Vanderbilt, showcasing his commitment to the Volunteers.
Franklin is set to bring two more years of eligibility to Tennessee, providing the team with a strong arm for the foreseeable future. Last season, he posted a 5.60 ERA and achieved a 4-1 record. As a sophomore, Franklin pitched 27.1 innings, during which he walked 27 batters and struck out an impressive 43.
