Shocking: The Toronto Maple Leafs seal deal for rivals free agent…

Calle Jarnkrok is permanently lost by the Maple Leafs following a disappointing practice injury.

After Calle Jarnkrok broke his knuckle during practice on Friday, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost a crucial member of their bottom six. The team has designated the 32-year-old as week-to-week because he will be out of the lineup for some time.

He was seen tossing his glove angrily as he made his way to the locker room after blocking a shot during the practice session. In 46 games this season with the Maple Leafs, the former second-round pick in the 2010 NHL Draft has racked up 10 goals and 19 points.

According to NHL.com, Toronto captain John Tavares said of Jarnkrok, “We know he plays an important role, not always talked about but his ability to play anywhere in the lineup with anyone is a great trait of his and everyone enjoys playing with him just because of what he brings to the table and how he compliments everyone throughout the lineup really, really well.”

We depend on him, so hopefully it’s nothing major.

Ryan Reaves, who lined up on the fourth line ahead of an all-Canadian game against the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night, will be the first player to get a chance to fill in for the Swede.

Leafs’ Bobby McMann is still sidelined.
