Recruiting for Georgia football: Five-star linebacker While the Bulldogs surge into the top 10 rankings, Zayden Walker pledges.
Georgia added another touted prospect to its 2025 recruiting class on Wednesday: five-star linebacker Zayden Walker, the No. 10 overall player and the No. 2 linebacker in the cycle, according to 247Sports. Walker visited Georgia last week and committed days later.
“They [Georgia] check every box. Getting me to the next level, making me the best I can be on and off the field. Great head coach, good winning program. They really check every box,” Walker told 247Sports. “So it’s more of a ‘Why not?’ type of deal with Georgia.”
Georgia moves up six spots into the top 10 of the 2025 recruiting rankings thanks to Walker’s pledge. The Bulldogs rank ninth in terms of recruiting class, behind schools like Alabama, Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Notre Dame. The Ellaville, Georgia, native is the second-ranked player in the state and the highest-ranked commit for the Bulldogs, behind another Georgia target, five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin.
Walker now joins elite players like five-star tight end Elyiss Williams, four-star edge Darren Ikinnagbon, and four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte as the tenth member of Georgia’s 2017 recruiting class. Walker and Williams, who committed to Georgia, are the 25th and 26th five-star defensive players to do so since Smart signed his first class in 2018, which was ranked first overall.
