Birmingham City FC Head Coach Breaks Silence With 5_Words…
Former Birmingham City manager John Eustace has released a statement following his dismissal from the club last week.
The manager’s departure was confirmed by Birmingham last Monday. The club moved quickly to bring in former England captain Wayne Rooney as his replacement, with the new manager taking charge of his first game vs Middlesbrough in the upcoming weekend.
Eustace spent 15 months as manager at St Andrew’s. In that time he managed the club for 63 games, winning 21, drawing 15, and losing 27. So far this season Blues had won five, drawn three, and lost three of their 11 Championship matches, a record which sees them in sixth place in the table.

The manager’s last game in charge of the club saw Birmingham come out as 3-1 winners over West Bromwich Albion. Juninho Bacuna, Dion Sanderson, and Gary Gardner scored to get all three points.
Following his sacking, Eustace has sent a message to fans, and says that he leaves the club “with a heavy heart.” He also said that he feels he has left the club “in a much stronger position.” Eustace’s full statement can be read below:
“I would like to thank Craig Gardner for giving me the opportunity to become the manager of Birmingham City Football Club,” he said in a statement released via the League Managers Association.
“When I came into the job fifteen months ago there was a lot of uncertainty surrounding the club and we had some very challenging times, but there was a determination and focus from all of the staff and players to make sure we came through those times together. The development of the players and the staff over that period is there for everyone to see and I feel we have left the club in a much stronger position then when we first arrived.
“I would like to thank the players who went out onto the pitch every week and fought for each other with a togetherness and spirit of which Birmingham City Football Club is all about.
“As for the fans, you have been amazing! I wanted to bring that connection back between you and the team and I feel that we did that. You supported us through the good times and the tough times. You never lost faith and your loyalty and passion has been outstanding.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to have served the fans and the club in the city where I was born and grew up in. I leave with a heavy heart, however, I would like to wish everyone at the football club huge success in the future.”
