The 2023 Carolina Panthers season was a complete bust on a number of levels. After a 1-10 start, head coach Frank Reich was fired. Meanwhile, quarterback Bryce Young of Carolina, who was selected with the first overall pick, became just the second overall to finish last in both passer rating (73.7) and yards per attempt (5.5). The fact that the quarterback was chosen immediately after Young had an outstanding rookie campaign did not help.
Dan Morgan, the new general manager and a franchise legend, and head coach Dave Canales are in charge of turning this around. Young is not someone you should write off after just one season. In fact, Andy Dalton, his backup, thinks that despite all the hardships he encountered, including offensive line adjustments, Young performed admirably in his debut NFL season.
