GLENDORA, CALIFORNIA— In a heartfelt announcement that has stunned the motorsports community, NHRA legend John Force has revealed his retirement from professional drag racing due to a traumatic brain injury.
The 16-time NHRA Funny Car champion, renowned for his remarkable career spanning over four decades, made the emotional declaration at a press conference held at the NHRA headquarters. Force, 74, expressed his deep gratitude to fans, family, and the racing community while explaining the difficult decision to step away from the sport he loves.
“This is not how I envisioned my career ending, but sometimes life throws you a curveball,” Force said. “I’ve been blessed with an incredible journey in NHRA, but after consulting with my doctors and family, I have to prioritize my health and well-being.”
