Top-10 recruit Nate Ament schedules an official visit to Kentucky
Ament is ranked as high as third overall in the 2025 class.
The Kentucky Wildcats have secured a visit with one of the top prospects in the class of 2025.
According to KSR’s Jacob Polacheck, Kentucky will host 5-star recruit Nate Ament for an official visit on August 28th. Mark Pope offered Ament a scholarship in June.
A 6-foot-9. 185-pound forward, Ament hails from Warrenton (VA) and plays for Highland School. A consensus top-10 prospect, he’s now ranked seventh overall by 247 Sports, 10th by Rivals, eighth by ESPN, and third by On3.
In addition to Kentucky, Ament holds scholarship offers from UConn, North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, Oregon, Michigan, Indiana, and Louisville, among many others.
While many of Kentucky’s top targets are players who weren’t recruited by Pope at BYU, that’s not the case with Ament.
They recruited me a little bit when they were at BYU,” Ament said of Pope in April. “Now they’re at Kentucky. They are trying to get to know me and they are trying to get on as many calls with me as possible. We are in the process of building that relationship.”
Safe to say that relationship building is going quite well since Kentucky will get Ament’s first official visit.
Here’s a brief scouting report of Ament from 247 Sports’ Eric Bossi, which includes a comparison to NBA star Michael Porter.
While he’s still a bit on the thin side, Ament is a mobile and skilled forward who has the skill and ball skills to play out on the wing where he has tremendous size,” Bossi wrote. “Or, he can be used as a small ball four man who opens up defenses and pulls other bigs away from the basket thanks to his ability to shoot from deep. There is a lot of projectable upside for Ament because of his overall size, athleticism and frame that he can easily grow into down the road. While he’s not yet a finishes product and certainly needs to add more strength, he is a guy who already makes the game look pretty easy and appears to have a very bright future
