COMFIRMED: Wilson Odobert expected to be out until March after official Tottenham announcement

Bryan King can’t see Tottenham forward Wilson Odobert returning to action before the end of February.

The ex-Spurs scout believes this latest injury setback will be “very hard” on the 19-year-old.

It was confirmed via Spurs’ official website on Sunday (17 November) that Odobert had undergone surgery on his right hamstring on Saturday (16 November).

As a result, King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t think the forward will be seen for a while.

“I can’t see him returning before the end of February,” King said.

“That is quite a serious operation that he has had. For someone to have it at this age, it is very hard on him, he was progressing quite well.

“Now he has had to undergo surgery which will leave him out for quite some time.”

Wilson Odobert to return to Tottenham action in March?

Odobert’s injury problems since signing for Spurs have proved problematic and no doubt caused frustration.

However, the club and especially the player himself will hope that this surgery prevents any further issues.

Ange Postecoglou has hardly been able to take a look at what the ex-Burnley man can do since he arrived in North London during the summer.

However, it is important to note that Odobert is yet to celebrate his 20th birthday. Therefore, he is still incredibly young, and there is lots of time left for the player to make a name for himself at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

While his start to life at Spurs hasn’t gone at all how he would’ve liked, it looks as though the Frenchman has at least taken the first step to getting back on track.

In other Tottenham news, scouts from the club have been keeping an eye on a player likened to Xabi Alonso.
