Razorbacks Land Transfer Courtney Day

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas head coach Courtney Deifel has added a veteran utility player from the University of Texas, with the signing of graduate transfer Courtney Day.

Beyond what she’s done on the field, Courtney will seamlessly fit our team and culture. We cannot wait to have her finish her career at Bogle Park in front of the best fans in the country.”

 

During her four seasons in Austin (2020-23), she posted a .317 batting average and .395 on-base percentage with 120 hits, 22 doubles, two triples, 26 home runs, 63 runs scored, 44 walks and 91 RBI through 176 games played. She has registered 23 multi-hit games and 24 multi-RBI games during her collegiate career.

 

A native of Pearland, Texas, Day appeared primarily at first base and designated player during her time at Texas, in addition to pitching. Day owned a 2.45 earned run average and 47 strikeouts in 68.2 innings pitched while with the Longhorns.

 

During her most recent season of collegiate game action in 2023, Day recorded a .308 batting average with 40 hits, including seven doubles and seven home runs, in addition to a career-high 22 walks, 40 runs scored and 31 RBI.

 

In 2022, Day helped Texas advance to the Women’s College World Series, where she was named to the WCWS All-Tournament Team after leading Texas with three home runs and eight RBIs during the event. At the plate, she hit an even .300 over 57 games played, totaling 39 hits, 21 runs scored, a team-leading 12 home runs, 34 RBIs, and a squad-high .654 slugging percentage.

 

As a sophomore, Day saw action in 33 games, including 23 starts. She hit .323 with 20 hits, five extra-base hits, two home runs and 11 RBI while posting a 3.67 ERA in 34.1 inni
