Winnipeg Blue Bombers Head Coach Mike O’Shea announced the devastating news of the passing of assistant head coach and defensive line coach, Richard Harris. Harris, 63, collapsed at Canad Inns Stadium on Tuesday afternoon and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Harris was in his sixth season with the CFL club and was a highly respected coach and mentor. His death has sent shockwaves through the Blue Bombers organization and the entire CFL community.
“This has struck our entire organization from the top down,” said Bombers president Jim Bell in a statement. “Richard was a beloved member of our team and will be deeply missed.”
