The Auburn Tigers have picked up a big weapon, signing the nation’s No. 1 transfer portal receiver in former Georgia Tech star Eric Singleton.
During his two seasons with Georgia Tech, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound sophomore has participated in all 24 games and started 22 of them. Singleton leads the team in receiving yards in 2024 with 754 yards from 104 grabs for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns. According to 247Sports, the Douglasville, Georgia native is a four-star transfer and the top wide receiver in the transfer portal. As a three-star recruit fresh out of high school, Singleton received offers from Auburn, Michigan State, and Nebraska, among other schools. Singleton’s arrival might help Auburn replace KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who co-topped the Tigers in receiving touchdowns with Cam Coleman and led them in receptions and receiving yards with 50 and 981, respectively having eight.
Prior to the 2024 season, the Tigers signed Lambert-Smith, another elite portal receiver. Auburn’s collection of young, talented prospects at the position had more time to mature after his acquisition. As the second player Auburn has added at that position through the portal, Singleton follows four-star transfer and former Wake Forest wide receiver Horatio Fields, who is ranked No. 27 and No. 9 on the portal, according to 247Sports. Three wide receivers were signed by the Tigers: Sam Turner, Erick Smith (Derick Smith’s brother), and four-star Derick Smith. With Singleton, Auburn has added their fourteenth transfer and is now ranked fourth in its portal class by 247Sports, behind Ole Miss, Texas Tech, and LSU.
