Lady Vols basketball faces another tough challenge at home as it takes on Ole Miss.

 

No. 15 Tennessee (18-6, 5-6 SEC) is trying to solidify its position as a top-16 seed that allows it to host NCAA Tournament games, while Ole Miss (17-7, 8-4) is trying to reach that point.

 

Last game, the Lady Vols picked up a 99-61 blowout win over Auburn at home. Jewel Spear led Tennessee with 17 points, and the Lady Vols shot 56% as a team.

Four of Tennessee’s final five regular-season games will air on SEC Network, including Sunday’s matchup. In total, the Lady Vols will have eight games aired on the network.

News from SEC availability report for Lady Vols basketball, Ole Miss

 

The only player out today for either team per the SEC student-athlete availability report is Kaiya Wynn, who is out for the season with an injury suffered during the preseason. The senior guard for Lady Vols basketball is the only player expected to be inactive in Sunday’s game.

 

A quick look at Ole Miss

 

When Ole Miss takes on Lady Vols basketball, it will do so having won four of its last five contests.

 

Led by head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, Ole Miss took down No. 8 Kentucky and Arkansas in its last two contests before coming to Food City Center. In the win over the Razorbacks, Tameiya Sadler scored a team-high 17 points coming off the bench.

 

In last year’s meeting between Ole Miss and Tennessee, a 30-point showing from Jewel Spear wasn’t enough for a Tennessee win as it lost, 80-75. Marquesha Davis, now a member of the New York Liberty, scored 23 points for Ole Miss in the win.
