Michigan State officially hired Saddi Washington, a former assistant coach for Michigan basketball, as the Spartans announced on Thursday.
First of all, Washington deserves congratulations. For the past ten years, Saddi has made significant investments in the Michigan basketball program and has been a great help to both Juwan Howard and John Beilein. He probably didn’t get his desired outcome, but to be honest, I assumed he would now be a head coach.

Although Saddi left with class, Dusty May didn’t keep Washington after he was hired, and the Spartans, I hate to say it, made a wise decision in this situation. Washington was a key component of Michigan’s defensive strategies over the years and is a superb talent assessor.

A few Michigan football recruiting nuggets are available. In the 2025 class, the Wolverines are beginning to show interest in a few top defensive line prospects. If you missed it on Wednesday, catch up on that. Along with some other targets in the 2025 class, Michigan is also on the rise.

Ron Bellamy discussed the reasons Michigan football is thrilled about the two additions to its transfer portal this spring, aside from recruiting news. In addition, the Michigan Wolverines are ranked No. 8 in the Sporting News post-spring top-25 poll. Bill Bender’s thoughts on the Wolverines going into 2024 are as follows:

“Before the Wolverines selected 13 players for the 2024 NFL Draft, Jim Harbaugh left for the Los Angeles Chargers, and Michigan won its first national championship since 1997.

As a result, opinions on where Michigan will end up under first-year coach Sherrone Moore have differed, but the playing style won’t really alter. Kirk Campbell, the new offensive coordinator, has to find a quarterback to replace J.J. McCarthy, and Alex Orji is most likely the answer.

Last season, McCarthy and Blake Corum combined for thirty rushing touchdowns. Thus, as the lead back, Donovan Edwards is having a huge year this year. Together with Mason Graham, Kenneth Grant, and cornerback Wink Martindale, Moore also appointed Martindale as the new defensive coordinator.
