New West Coast forward Tyler Brockman has offered more details on his move from Hawthorn over the trade period just gone.
The Eagles and Hawks agreed to a trade on the weekend prior to deadline day, with West Coast parting with picks 44 and 63 for the 20-year-old.
Hopefully I can just be confident in myself this year. I sort of played with it a little bit this year but hopefully it can boost up more… I just want to win games,” Brockman explained.
He booted 11 goals from 10 appearances in 2021, the year he made his debut before being hampered by a hamstring injury in 2022.
For now, Brockman wants to continue to build his tank with a future midfield role at West Coast in mind.
He was the only trade in what was a quiet player movement window for the Eagles.
Hawthorn Football Club has informed Lachlan Bramble, Fergus Greene and Ned Long that they will not be offered contracts for 2024.
Bramble played 30 games during his three seasons in the brown and gold after arriving to the club through the pre-season supplemental selection period (SSP) in 2021.
Greene joined the club as a delisted free agent at the end of 2022, going on to kick 15 goals from 11 games in his only season.
Meanwhile, Long made five senior appearances across his two seasons following his selection in the 2021 rookie draft.
Hawthorn National Recruiting and List Manager Mark McKenzie acknowledged the trio’s contribution.
“These decisions are never easy to make and we thank each of these boys for their dedication to our football club,” McKenzie said.
“Lachy, Fergus and Ned are all popular members of our club, and on behalf of everyone at Hawthorn, I’d like to wish them all the best in their next chapters.”
The departures take the club’s 2023 post-season list changes to seven after Max Lynch called time on his career, while Emerson Jeka, Josh Morris and Fionn O’Hara also left the brown and gold.
