Painful Departure: Chicago Cubs key player is gone……..

A former standout pitcher from the Chicago Cubs has communicated his interest in joining the New York Yankees. Despite the Chicago Cubs being in the market for starting pitching, Marcus Stroman, who has spent the past two seasons with them, is poised to explore free agency and seek a new team for the 2024 season.

Stroman, a seasoned 32-year-old pitcher, demonstrated solid performance during his tenure with the Cubs, with respective ERAs of 3.50 and 3.95 over the last two seasons. His noteworthy contributions earned him an All-Star title in 2023, marking his second career All-Star recognition. With his contract now expired, Stroman is eyeing an opportunity to contribute to a competitive team.

Renowned baseball analyst Bob Nightengale, writing for USA Today, reported that Marcus Stroman has expressed a keen interest in playing for the New York Yankees. However, despite his interest, the Yankees have chosen not to extend a contract offer to the skilled pitcher.
