Good News: Just In Kentucky Confirm The Signing Of Another Top Star

Mark Pope and his colleagues at Kentucky will have another guest in Lexington starting on Monday. Kentucky will not only welcome Jamie Vinson, a 2024 Top-50 big man, but another guest as well. This time, Chaz Lanier of North Florida is a prominent transfer gateway target. Travis Branham of 247 Sports reports that Lanier will be visiting Kentucky on Monday.

Lanier has been quite active in the G League Elite camp, where Mark Pope spent the previous weekend watching him in action with assistant coach Alvin Brooks. The Osprey guard is considering going back to college after checking out the NBA Draft system. Tennessee and BYU are two of the universities enlisting Lanier. The Volunteers are thought to be Kentucky’s primary rival.

The Wildcats are actively pursuing the player ranked in the top ten in the transfer portal as they attempt to complete their squad. It’s important to note that Lanier took part in the G League Elite Camp, but he was eventually not selected for the NBA Combine, raising the possibility that he may return to school. He averaged 19.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in his final season at North Florida. He shot an extremely effective 51.0% from the field and 44.0% from beyond the arc. He is among the portal’s most productive scorers.

Still, Kentucky is a strong candidate for Lanier’s services; they have competition from Tennessee and BYU, where Mark Pope was the head coach before moving to Kentucky. During the big transfer portal target’s visit to Lexington on Monday, can Kentucky leave a positive impression?
