Alabama 5-Star Freshman Caleb Odom Explains Loyalty Despite Nick Saban’s Retirement**
Caleb Odom, a highly-touted five-star freshman from Carrollton, Georgia, has stayed committed to the University of Alabama’s football program despite the retirement of legendary coach Nick Saban. While one of his friends, who had thrown him precise passes during Rose Bowl practices, left Alabama through the NCAA transfer portal, Odom chose to remain with the Crimson Tide.
Initially recruited as a tight end, the 6-foot-5 Odom has transitioned to wide receiver and is poised to make an impact in his first year. Despite having the option to transfer, Odom’s determination to compete at the highest level and his confidence in the coaching staff’s ability to develop him into an elite playmaker kept him at Alabama. He had an impressive spring season and has the potential to become Alabama’s first successful big-bodied target since Julio Jones.
