JUST NOW A new Samsung Galaxy Watch just arrive earlier than expected

There are still many unanswered questions regarding Samsung’s wearable portfolio, and the most recent development is intriguing.

It appears that Samsung is abandoning its development of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Watch FE, which would have suggested that the company is aiming for a cheaper pricing point.

Since Samsung usually produces mid-range versions of their flagship phones under the FE (Fan Edition) moniker, the reasoning made sense.

However, it appears that Samsung is moving in a different way, at least in terms of branding, according to a dependable leaker and journalist. Max Jambor posted a brief message on Twitter that read, “Galaxy Watch 4 (2024)”
When questioned by the staff at Android Authority about if he meant the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE was discontinued and would be replaced by the Galaxy Watch 4, Jambor reportedly replied that the Galaxy Watch 4 would essentially fulfill all of the same requirements.

Thus, it appears like Samsung may decide to stick with the flagship name for its upcoming watch, but will lower the price to make it more accessible (and most likely will have found ways to make it more economical to manufacture as a consequence).

For starters, it makes sense that what might be on the way is essentially a reused version of the previous Watch 4, possibly given a fresh coat of paint, considering that the most recent Galaxy Watch model is the Galaxy Watch 6.

This would be in keeping with the approach taken by Apple with its iPhone SE range, which is essentially an older iPhone with a faster processor inside. This enables the production of goods that can be sold for less money using the current supply chain.

Even though Samsung has made some pretty amazing changes to the physical appearance of its watches since the Galaxy Watch 4 was first announced, it will be interesting to see what a new version actually looks like if all of this is true.

It’s unclear precisely when we’ll learn that, though. As of right now, Samsung doesn’t have any events scheduled. It’s possible that the company will merely make an announcement at some time regarding a watch that won’t be its flagship model; we’ll just have to wait and see.
